TENUTA DI MOCENNI
The 230 hectare farm is located in the northwest
corner of the Castelnuovo Berardenga township, where it borders
both Castellina in Chianti and Radda in Chianti. Mocenni is
the group’s most naturally endowed and important farm
for vineyards and wine production. The 70 hectares circa of
vineyards, all located in the Chianti Classico region, are
for the most part the result of an ongoing replanting process.
Most of our vines are Sangiovese, with new clones which limit
production capacity in order to guarantee better grape quality.
Other grape varietals present are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot,
following the worldwide trend indicating these two as potential
bases for improvement in our winemaking traditions.
We also have recently planted in Mocenni additional olive
trees with the certainty that the utter excellence of our
oils will find a market that is willing and able to understand
and appreciate them. They are a given.
The land has belonged to the family since the end of the 1700s.
We are proud that our heritage and our passion have constantly
worked to improve the farm over the centuries.
